Crispy black pasta with fresh polpo
Sarah takes you to her roots: Venice. She makes delicious Venetian cicchetti, the Italian version of tapas. Cicchetti are small bites, typically served around aperitivo time in the bàcari, the wine bars in Venice. And in this recipe, a special preparation of pasta, Sarah deep fries her pasta dough!

Pasta alla bussara
Pasta alla bussara stands out for its rustic simplicity. The sauce itself is a blend of homegrown Venetian tastes: think vine ripened tomatoes, freshly caught scampi, parsley, garlic, a healthy glug of white wine and a hint of paprika, brought together by a good amount of olive oil. Basic in nature, sublime in taste.

Egg yolk raviolo in a saffron butter sauce with Parmesan crumble

We all know risotto as a savory dish, seasoned with stock and Parmesan cheese. But did you know that you can also make a delicious dessert with these rice grains? It’s a traditional Italian dish that closely resembles rice pudding. You cook the risotto in milk and add delicious fresh vanilla to it. A velvety dessert and ultimate comfort food.

Her stories take readers on a journey through the rich culinary traditions of Italy, highlighting traditional flavors, historical backgrounds, and regional nuances. Making pasta, in particular, became a great passion, and in 2020, she earned the title of Master of Pasta in Italy. Shortly thereafter, she founded the first Pasta Academy in the Benelux.
